The Center's Distinct Assets

  • The preschool is entirely separate from the daycare.  It has its own location within the center  This advantage allows for children to transition from the daycare experience to an educational atmosphere.
  • Our fenced, outdoor play area covers one third of an acre and includes a paved area for riding pedal vehicles, a mulched area with excellent playground equipment including sand boxes and other manipulatives, and a grassy hill for outdoor exploration.
  • Our infant room staff has a total of eleven years experience caring for little ones.  Our State of Iowa daycare consultant stated in her report that our infant staff has excellent knowledge regarding infant care practices.
  • Because the center has compiled an ample amount of educational and free-play toys, we are able to rotate toys on a monthly basis in each of our areas.
  • Our daycare schedule allows for siblings 2-5 to spend a portion of the day interacting with each other.  The schedule is designed to let the two age groups (2/3 and 4/5) have "apart" and "together" times.

Curriculum

The preschool offers a well-rounded program based on developmentally appropriate practices through Creative Curriculum.  The program provides fun, play-based learning experiences that enhance the overall development of the child including cognitive, language, social, self-help, gross and fine motor development.
